Course Outlines
Metro (French textbook)
We start Metro 1 in Primary 6 in some of our cluster schools. We are covering the whole of Module 1, which contains the following topics: name, greetings, school objects, French alphabet, age and numbers, months, birthdays and colours.
Pupils get a vocabulary booklet with a matching CD to help with pronunciation. They also get a homework booklet to help them repeat tasks done in class.
In Primary 7, we aim to cover Modules 2 and 3 from Metro book 1. The pupils continue to use their vocabulary booklet, CD and homework booklet.
In S1, pupils from different primary schools should all be able, after revision, to start at Module 4. The aim is to finish Metro 1 and Metro 2 rouge/vert by the end of S2.
Pupils in S3 and S4 can then concentrate on Metro Pour L’écosse, rouge or vert according to their level, to prepare for Standard Grade.
All pupils using Metro books also have the opportunity to use Metro Electro ICT software to help them revise and consolidate their knowledge.
Logo (German textbook)
We start Logo 1 in Primary 6 in some of our cluster schools. We are covering the whole of Module 1 which contains the following topics: name, greetings, where you live, German alphabet, school objects, classroom instructions, colours, numbers and age, months and birthdays.
Pupils get a vocabulary booklet to help them revise and self-assess. They also get a homework booklet to help them repeat tasks done in class. In Primary 7, we aim to cover Modules 2 and 3 from Logo 1. The pupils continue to use their vocabulary and homework booklets.
In S1, pupils from different primary schools should all be able, after revision, to start at Module 4.
The aim is to finish Logo 1 and Logo 2 by the end of S2. Pupils using Logo 1 have the opportunity to use Logo Electro ICT software to help them revise and consolidate their knowledge.
Pupils in S3 and S4 work through Logo 3 and a selection of different materials to help them prepare for Standard Grade.
