Welcome to Scalloway Primary School
Scalloway Primary School sits at the edge of the village of Scalloway, in the Shetland Islands, overlooking a busy modern harbour, which is sheltered from the Atlantic Sea by a plethora of islands and tiny skerries.
The school has an Nursery and Primary department delivering education to 185 pupils age from 3-12 years. The catchment area is rural, widespread and diverse. Children attending the school live in the village itself, the neighbouring islands, small settlements, and in isolated dwellings by the sea or inland.
The values of this traditional Shetland community are also the values the school promotes. This is a community that values resilience, diversity, citizenship, identity and sustainability, and looks to the school to equip young people with these qualities.
Scalloway Primary School is a school at the heart of its community and the community is at the heart of the school.
